Note / Disclaimer Candidate needs to verify BEFORE transfer or new certification, that any agency or institution intended to be used for will accept a U.S.A. Translators Association (U.S. A.T.A.) certification. This is the Candidate’s responsibility, as not all entities have the same standards. Court Interpreters in particular usually need additional state court administered certification for most US states. ## U.S. A.T.A. Language Interpretation Fluency Certification :New Certifications 1 Language Pair (max. 7 per individual linguist) 2 Paths: Client submission of previous own work: source text (spoken, written), interpreted text (spoken). At least 3 minutes, no more than 15 minutes. a. Reviewed by independent linguist in same language pair b. Pass or Remedial result: remedial will have notes for re-submission (up to 5 times) OR 2. U.S. A.T.A. administered exam in language pair a. Exam paper with selected text, spoken audio file, approximately 1-5 minutes in length, will be sent for interpretation into the target language within a specified term b. Returned exam will be reviewed by independent linguist in same language pair c. Pass or Remedial result: remedial will have notes for re-submission (up to 5 times) Upon Certification registration, candidate will receive: - Virtual (Digital, pdf) U.S. A.T.A. Certificate of Language Interpretation (Fluency) in the Language Pair Transferred or Exam Passed- Annotation in the U.S A.T.A. directory translator listing of Language Interpretation in the language pair- U.S. A.T.A. public directory search language listing annotation and capacity- Verbal (telephonic) substantiation, upon request, to third parties- Hard-copy certificate may be ordered, dependent upon availability from Members Store and printer ### U.S. A.T.A.
