Translators Association (U.S. A.T.A.) certification. This is the Candidate’s responsibility, as not all entities, private medical facilities throughout the U.S.A., have the same standards. ## U.S. A.T.A. Certified Medical Interpretation (CMI) Certification :New Certifications Administered by our U.S. A.T.A. Division: U.S A.T.A. National Board of Certification for Medical Interpreters (USATA-NBCMI) 1 Language Pair (max. 7 per individual linguist) 2 Possible Paths: 1. Client submission of previous own work, in a Medical Field context: source text (spoken, written), interpreted text (spoken). At least 3 minutes, no more than 15 minutes. a. Reviewed by independent linguist in same language pair b. Pass or Remedial result: remedial will have notes for re-submission (up to 5 times) OR 2. U.S. A.T.A. exam in language pair a. Administered by our U.S. A.T.A. Division: USATA National Board of Certification for Medical Interpreters (USATA-NBCMI) b. Exam paper with selected text, spoken audio file, approximately 1-5 minutes in length, in a Medical Field context, will be sent for interpretation into the target language within a specified term c. Returned exam will be reviewed by independent linguist in same language pair d. Pass or Remedial result: remedial will have notes for re-submission (up to 5 times) Upon Certification registration, candidate receives: - Virtual (Digital, pdf) U.S. A.T.A.
